Sydney doctors and nurses pose for Scrub Lab’s Kids Helpline charity calendar

Some of Australia’s hottest doctors and nurses have posed for a charity calendar to help raise funds for Kids Helpline. Here’s how you can get the calendar.

Doctors and nurses have posed for the Scrub Lab’s Kids Helpline charity calendar.

Sydney doctor Pablo Martinez had no issue getting his kit off for a good cause.

The ripped orthopaedic surgeon is the cover star of the inaugural Scrub Lab calendar that is raising money for Kids Helpline.

“I do the best work in my scrubs – and often they’re covered in plaster afterwards,” Martinez told The Daily Telegraph.

“I remember one day in particular, where one of my young patients had been in a motorbike accident on Christmas Eve. He was only 10 years old and needed his wrist plastered.

“To make him feel better I made another plaster in the shape of a small Christmas tree. I’m from Spain, and this will be my first hot summer during the Christmas holidays – so I will be coming straight from work to Bondi Beach still wearing my scrubs.”

Martinez is Mr January in the calendar that features 12 doctors and nurses.

Midwife Lauren Brenton is also in the mix, as is breast cancer surgeon Cindy Mak, obstetrician Joseph Sgroi and medical student Marley Evy.

The calendar is the brainchild of nurse Van Nguyen, and her accountant sister, Linh.

They selected the calendar stars based on their profile’s on social media.

Kids Helpline is a free phone counselling service for young people aged five to 25. The organisation has qualified counsellors working around-the-clock to speak to kids around the country.
