Hundreds of South Coast residents have united to find a beloved five-year-old Japanese Spitz cross Pomeranian, that vanished more than a week ago due to a “human error” - and the search is worth a cool $10,000.

Frankie went missing on January 27 after jumping from owner Abbey Livingston’s stopped car near Durras.

Since then, Ms Livingston has been desperately searching for her best friend, joined by hundreds of strangers also eager to find Frankie.

“The community is what’s keeping me going,” Ms Livingston told this publication.

“I’ve never received such kindness; it’s amazing to have so many people helping me.”

Ms Livingston – who lives in 113km north of Frankie’s last known location – has been making the long trip to the Eurobodalla region every day to scour through surrounding bushland for her dog.

However, she hasn’t been alone, with family, friends and even strangers joining in on the hunt.

“Frankie is a quiet, lovely dog,” Ms Livingston said.

“I think lot’s of people know how scary it can be losing someone you love, because so many people are helping us.”

An online community group has since been established in a bid to help find Frankie, amassing nearly 500 members in just days.

Flyers with Frankie’s picture, description and last known location are also being displayed across the South Coast.

“This was a terrible human error,” Ms Livingston said.

“We stopped to switch drivers and that’s when she jumped from the car.

“We drove 15, 20 minutes before we realised.”

Determined to bring Frankie home, Ms Livingston is offering a $10,000 reward.

“It means so much to me that people are helping look for my best friend,” she said.

“If you see her, immediately call me on 0432 204 784 and keep an eye on her if you can – I have people who will drop everything to go and collect her.

“She’s a friendly dog – I love her and I just want her back.”
