A western Sydney bakery has poked fun at a robber who “cleaned out” their cash drawer, by blasting CCTV footage on their Instagram in an attempt to name and shame the culprit.
Sharing their story, the bakery heads opted to see the comedic side and poke fun of the alleged robber.
“WANTED: a baker who forgot to bake,” they headlined the post.
“No passion for pastry, no respect for the craft. Just a quick grab-and-go.
“We do admire their commitment to hygiene (gloves were worn, very responsibly), but unfortunately, sanitary hands don’t make up for empty tills.”
At 3:28am on Tuesday morning, CCTV footage caught the man breaking into Lucien Baked Goods on Phillip st Paramatta, before taking a tray of cash and leaving.
The bakery took to Instagram on Wednesday morning to share the footage and ask for help locating the man.
In the video, the man is seen walking in through the front door of the restaurant, after having a real struggle to open it.
He was wearing what looks to be a hoodie, hat, backpack and plastic gloves.
The man proceeded to look under multiple sections of the counter before finding the tray of cash.
He made one quick lap back around before the video ended.
“At 3.28am on Tuesday, 18th of March, someone broke into our premises, cleaned out our cash drawer, and then — shockingly — did not start kneading dough or rolling croissants,” the bakery posted.
“If anyone in the Parramatta area recognises this individual or has any information that can assist, please reach out. This took place in our bakery on Phillip Street and has been reported to the police.”
Police have told The Daily Telegraph an Area Command Officer will attend the bakery and speak to the business owner soon
