Man in his 70s dies after being struck by vehicle in Primbee, Wollongong

Emergency services were unable to revive a man believed to be in his 70s after he was struck by a vehicle in the state’s south.

A man has died after being struck by a vehicle in the state’s south on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Windang Rd and Bakers Lane in Primbee about 6pm on Tuesday, following reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

Paramedics treated the man, believed to be in his 70s, who had suffered severe injuries and was in cardiac arrest.

Despite efforts to resuscitate him, he died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a 57-year-old woman, was uninjured and was taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District established a crime scene and have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
