A man and a woman have been charged over a shooting in Sydney’s west as detectives continue to probe possible links to a violent cartel-style attack that has sent shockwaves through the city’s drug underworld.
Strike Force Dawlin was established after 27-year-old Luke Margetson was assaulted and allegedly pistol-whipped during a confrontation on Milburn St in Quakers Hill on November 10 this year.
A shot was fired during the incident, which was filmed and circulated with a chilling note warning, “Aus cocaine market comply, or face your fate”.
Police sources believe the attack was carried out by members of the so-called “Aussie cartel”, a group linked to a major bikie gang seeking to assert control over Sydney’s cocaine trade.
Video of the confrontation shows a masked gunman demanding drugs from Margetson as he threatens to shoot him.
A dark Honda sedan was filmed fleeing the scene and was later found torched on Littleboy St in Kings Langley.
It is the same vehicle investigators allege is connected to two people arrested on Wednesday.
Detectives say the Honda Accord used in the attack had been stolen from a Krestrel St, Hinchinbrook home on October 27 and later destroyed.
A breakthrough came on December 3 when officers raided a home on Polding St in Fairfield West, arresting Delta Khoshaba, 22.
Police allege her vehicle contained number plates, face coverings and 100 rounds of ammunition.
Soon after, a second search warrant was executed on Talbingo Place in Heckenberg, where Daniel Whiu, 19, was arrested.
He allegedly had a firearm on him at the time of the arrest and is accused of stealing and later burning the Honda.
Both were taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with a series of offences.
It is not alleged that they are part of the Aussie Cartel.
Mr Whiu has been charged with six offences, including possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, participating in a criminal group, being carried in a stolen vehicle, destroying property by fire and possessing suspected stolen goods.
Both were refused bail in Liverpool Local Court on December 3, and remanded in custody.
Mr Whiu will return to court on December 17 and Ms Khoshaba on February 4, 2026 at Campbelltown Local Court.
Investigations are ongoing.
