Girl, aged 1, dies after being hit by ute in Tanilba Bay, Port Stephens
A little girl has died after she was hit by a car in Port Stephens, with the driver taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
A one-year-old girl has died after she was hit by a car in Port Stephens.
About 5.40pm on December 9, emergency services attended home on Lloyd George Grove in Tanilba Bay after reports a child had been hit by a car.
Port Stephens-Hunter Police officers arrived and found the girl had been hit by a Toyota ute which had been on the property.
The girl was treated by paramedics and was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
She later died.
NSW Police say the driver of the ute, a 25-year-old man, was uninjured in the incident and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
An investigation has commenced into the cause of the crash, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
