Driver charged with dangerous driving after Bankstown crash leaves passenger in critical condition

A man has been charged following a serious crash in Sydney’s southwest that left his female passenger in critical condition.

Emergency services responded to Fenwick St, Bankstown, at about 7.50pm on Saturday after reports a vehicle crashed into a parked car.

The 23-year-old female passenger was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was subjected to roadside testing which allegedly returned a positive result.

He was taken to hospital for mandatory testing and treatment before being discharged and transported to Liverpool Police Station.

The 26-year-old has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving, and loss of traction.

He was refused bail and appeared before Liverpool Local Court on Monday.
