A woman is fighting for life in hospital after her motorcycle collided with a truck on a roadway near the state’s capital.
Emergency services responded to reports of a collision 25km northeast of Canberra between a motorcycle and a truck on the Federal Hwy near Bungendore Rd, at about 10am on Wednesday.
Monaro District Police officers said the 68-year-old female motorcycle rider was found in a critical condition before she was flown to Canberra Hospital.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old truck driver also involved in the collision was uninjured, however he was transported to Queanbeyan Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.
