Star gazers were left baffled after spotting a ‘UFO’ hovering above the Nightcliff shops Saturday evening.
One space fan reported seeing the glowing orb heading towards Fannie Bay at about 7pm.
“I was looking out towards the Fannie Bay direction and saw this burning light,” he said.
“At some points it looked like it was spinning and had a tail. So very weird.”
Footage captured by the 37-year-old depicted a large yellow orb floating for a short period of time before a series of separate lights began to drop towards the ground.
Space fans had taken to the streets after it was announced a series of colourful meteor showers would illuminate the night sky over the weekend.
The strange phenomenon has left people prepping their tin foil hats in case aliens have finally joined us.
