TIO Stadium has a maximum capacity of 12,200 people and more than 12,000 patrons are expected to attend the game as Top Enders and visitors look to grab their only chance to watch the highest level of football in Darwin this year.
AFLNT chief executive Stuart Totham said strong ticket sales, 18 per cent of which so far had been sold interstate, promised for a successful event.
“After a successful Sir Doug Nicholls round last year, spectators can expect this year’s fortnight of AFL footy in the Territory to be just as fantastic,” he said.
“A second release of grandstand seats are coming this Thursday.”
Gold Coast Suns vs Hawthorn takes place at TIO Stadium on Saturday night at 7.10pm.
