Another cowboy-themed retailer has opened its doors in Darwin.
Iconic Australian country clothing brand Ringers Western opened its first Territory store at Casuarina Square in Darwin late last month in a 150 sqm tenancy opposite Cotton On.
Founded at a cattle station near Kununurra in Western Australia’s Kimberley Region in 2012, Ringers Western has grown to become one of the country’s most popular country and western-themed clothing brands.
It has an extensive range of clothes, hats, boots and accessories suitable for the country or the city and all age groups.
Sentinel chief executive Warren Ebert said Casuarina’s management welcomed Ringers Western to the centre for its high-quality, durable, and stylish western-inspired apparel,
He said the brand emerged from the need for quality clothing among hardworking Australians, with a focus on durability and style.
“This is a tremendous coup for Casuarina Square and the Territory to see Ringers Western open their first store in Darwin at our centre,” Mr Ebert said.
“It’s a great endorsement for the drawing power of Casuarina Square. Every man, woman and child in Darwin visits Casuarina Square more than five times every month. Why would you want a store anywhere else?”
Ringers Western founder and chief executive James Salerno said the company was happy to have made it to the Territory.
“The opening of the Casuarina store in Darwin is pretty special to our team at Ringers Western – and a long time coming for us,” he said.
“A lot of our family members were born in the Territory, and we were raised on a cattle station just across the NT border in the Kimberley,” he said.
“Darwin was the ‘big smoke’ for us in the Kimberley and where we would go for the weekend to get our city fix. In many ways the NT is the heartland of our brand, and we’re excited to be able to bring the brand to our countrymen and fellow Territorians.”
As well as Ringers Western, outfitters Ariat opened at Casuarina Square in August 2023 and in the CBD Delaney’s, on the corner of Cavenagh and Knuckey streets has been selling cowboy lines for decades, along with RM Williams in Smith Street Mall.
In other news, iconic Australian fuel brand Solo will replace Shell at Casuarina Square, with the estimated $5 million rebrand and renovation of its Trower-Dripstone road premises expected to be finished by early next year.
This is on top of a $50 million renovation planned to improve centre security and to replace The Quarter.
