The NT Government’s Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Reduction Strategy 2025 – 2028 and Safety Roadmap have been launched to coincide with the start of the global 16 Days of Activism campaign.

The strategy and roadmap deliver 45 initiatives across prevention, intervention, response, and healing.

NT Minister for Prevention of Domestic Violence, Minister Robyn Cahill said they are part of the Finocchiaro CLP Government’s long-term plan to reduce violence and strengthen community safety.

“Backed by our government’s plan and $36 million in annual funding, we are investing in safer homes, stronger families, and more connected communities,” she said.

“The strategy and roadmap are about turning evidence into action, empowering Territorians with the knowledge to recognise violence, seek help, and stand with those affected.”

Minister Robyn Cahill said the initiatives outlined in Strategy 2025-2028 have been shaped by frontline services, Aboriginal organisations, and the voices of those with lived experience, ensuring the Strategy 2025-2028 reflects the needs of communities across the Territory.

“The Strategy supports our government’s broader goals to reduce crime, rebuild the economy, and restore our lifestyle by strengthening prevention, accountability, and healing,” Ms Cahill said.

The Safety Roadmap provides clear and accessible information to help Territorians:

•Recognise the warning signs of violence

•Know where to get help or how to support someone in need

•Understand the actions being taken to build a safer Territory for everyone

Minister Robyn Cahill urged Territorians to share and display the new roadmap.

“Ending violence is everyone’s responsibility,” Minister Cahill said.

“By sharing and displaying the roadmap, and by joining in community action, we can all play a role in driving lasting change. Together, we can build a Territory where every person feels safe, respected, and free from fear.”
