Covid NT: Negative text results sent to people who actually have coronavirus
A failure in the NT government’s result notification system has lead to a number of Territorians unaware they were Covid-positive.

A “SYSTEM error” in the NT government’s Covid notification service has resulted in a number of Territorians in the community unaware they were Covid-positive.
It included six text messages that were mistakenly sent out to individuals who have the infection informing them of a negative result.
A further 51 positive results were never sent to positive cases.
NT Health said they had corrected the issue through phone calls and text messages and all affected people were now aware of their Covid status.
“Investigations are underway to determine how the error occurred,” an NT Health statement read.
“NT Health sincerely apologises for the error that was made and the inconvenience caused to those impacted by the system failure.”
The test results were received between June 9 and 20.
In January, a similar error meant thousands of people were not notified they had been at an exposure site.
