Nightcliff locals who got a glimpse at an adventurous baby crocodile who visited the jetty have labelled it as “a little cutie”.
Local resident Gordon Canning said the crocodile was quite small, “only a metre and a half or so”.
“This one was much bolder and more curious than most others,” Mr Canning said.
“It sat under the jetty and took an interest to people walking around.”
Mr Canning said people who dared to take a dip in the waters at Nightcliff should be aware there is an “awful lot more crocs off Nightcliff than most realise”.
He said he had also seen a much larger croc, about 3m in size, off Nightcliff beach recently.
“It was big enough that I drove down to the beach from the jetty and warned all the dog owners and swimmers,” he said.
With the Wet season in full swing, Territorians are reminded to be crocwise around all bodies of water.
