And that’s a wrap.

Nicole Kidman and her crew have wrapped production on TV series Nine Perfect Strangers on schedule and on budget, showing Australia is the place to be for the global film and television industry.

Serving as producer as well as starring in the production, Kidman has spent the past several months shooting in Byron Bay with fellow Hollywood stars Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans and Bobby Cannavale.

The Sunday Telegraph in July first revealed the production had been brought to Australia as COVID-19 shut down the industry globally.

Since then, Hollywood has been watching eagerly to see if they could make it work while several other major productions have also since set up base in Australia.

Nine Perfect Strangers is understood to be injecting about $100 million into the local economy and created more than 250 full-time and 1300 casual jobs. The production sought permission from state and federal governments to shoot under strict COVID-19 guidelines, including regular testing and wearing masks on set.

Kidman is currently in quarantine in the Southern Highlands after a quick trip to Ireland to shoot Robert Eggers Viking epic, The Northman.

The project reunites the Academy Award winner with her Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgard while the cast also includes Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Bjork. Kidman flew to Belfast to shoot her part in the project last month after finishing her on-camera work on Nine Perfect Strangers. It follows critical acclaim for her starring role opposite Hugh Grant in thriller series, The Undoing, which is screening on Binge and Foxtel.

Earlier this year, she won permission to self-quarantine on her Southern Highlands property under strict COVID-19 guidelines and paying for all medical and security costs.

It is understood she is again quarantining on the property and is expected to have timed her release to be able to reunite with husband Keith Urban and daughters Faith and Sunday for Christmas.
