THE Armstrong Nissan outlet in Toowoomba has installed a new 24 hour electric vehicle charge point at the store, to coincide with the Australian release of the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle.

Armstrong Auto Group director John Armstrong said the business was proud to be one of 780 charging stations nationwide.

He said the installation of the charging station came as hundreds of people took to the street in Toowoomba to call for greater action on climate change.

"With the commitment of offering environmentally sustainable options to their clients, Armstrong Nissan have welcomed the all-new Nissan Leaf with open arms," he said.

"We decided to install the EV charging point to show our clients the eco-friendly Leaf experience.

"The charging point also provides Leaf and other EV owners travelling through Toowoomba the convenience to pop in and charge their vehicle if needed."

The charge point can be located by any EV owner currently using the Chargefox App.

"We have positioned the charge point in the carpark of the Armstrong Nissan Service Centre, so it is accessible 24 hours a day," he said.

"Simply plug in the Nissan Leaf and get from 20 per cent to 80 per cent charge in around 60 minutes."
