WORK has resumed on the new Health House development in the CBD following a breach of asbestos safety procedures.

Asbestos, which is a building material common in older builds, is being removed during the demolition of Energy House at the corner of Cavenagh and Knuckey streets.

It was confirmed to the NT News on Thursday that an onsite worker had entered an asbestos zone.

It is understood there is no health risk to the worker.

Work stopped while workers were called to an all-site toolbox meeting to discuss the safety breach.

It was later resumed.

Worksafe NT was informed of the breach.

Energy House is being demolished by Hutchinson Builders, which built the Gateway Shopping Centre.
