BRIGHT lights, big prizes and endless entertainment – that was the atmosphere at Timezone Cairns’ opening on Abbott St on Saturday.
The family entertainment centre is packed with arcade games, bumper cars and even a space for children to celebrate their birthday.
However, it was not just Far North children having fun at Timezone’s first full day – even adults got in to the fun.
Maggie Bryant was one of those who spent hours playing with the attractions available on the floor.
“I remember the old Timezone when it was around the corner,” Ms Bryant said.
For her, playing and winning prizes brought a sense of nostalgia from her younger years.
“It brought back so many memories,” Ms Bryant said.
“I can’t wait to win more prizes.”
Venue manager Sarah Parlas said people were queuing outside the door before it opened.
“All the guests are happy with the games and everything is running smoothly,” Ms Parlas said.
“It was really exciting – people couldn’t wait to get inside.”
She said people can use their money cards from other Timezone location here in the Cairns venue.
“People have been really interested,” Ms Parlas said.
