Tziporah Malkah’s rant against ‘greenie people’ as Scott Morrison flags backburning overhaul

Tziporah Malkah has accused “greenie people” of trying to stop backburning as Prime Minister Scott Morrison reveals a major rewrite to rules covering hazard reduction.

Dire warnings issued ahead of worsening fire conditions in NSW

In a new online rant, Tziporah Malkah has criticised “greenie people” for trying to stop backburning as Australia’s bushfire crisis continues.

Malkah, a former actor and model who used to be known as Kate Fischer, posted a YouTube video on New Year’s Eve attacking Green’s voters.

She called out to “the people of Australia” and accused the Greens of hindering firefighters’ efforts to backburn efforts in East Gippsland in September last year.

Her comments came as Prime Minister Scott Morrison flagged a major rewrite to rules covering hazard reduction, land clearing and where homes can be built following the devastating fires.

Speaking to the media in Sydney today, the Prime Minister specifically linked climate change and the requirement for reforms.

Mr Morrison said there was “a need to address issues around hazard reduction for national parks, dealing with land clearing laws, zoning laws and planning laws around people’s properties and where they can be built in countries like Australia, up and down the coast”.

The PM said there were “many contributing factors” to the fire season, none more significant than the drought which had “created a tinderbox around the country”.

The issue of “fuel loads” was also “very clear”, Mr Morrison said.

In her dramatic rant, Malkah slammed environmentalists.

“As we know, the bushland that we live in requires fire,” she said.

‘However, the Greens and all the greenie people have forced us to not do fire control by getting out the underbrush and whatsoever … doing burn-offs.

“I hope that we learn from this. It’s a terrible, terrible, terrible way to learn. But we need to get out sh*t together, Australia.

“Stop it. Stop it. Stop being so stupid!” she said.

Malkah also revealed she has friends and family on the NSW south coast affected by the fires.

She then launched into another tirade, saying: “Just rack off, greenies. Let sensible people do the job.”

She then apologised for trying to politicise the issue said she prayed to God to help the animals because ‘”people are f**ked up”.

Her comments come as the ABC has been accused of bias after deleting a social media post about climate change activists protesting against backburning.

The post was originally seen on the ABC Gippsland Facebook page, but social media users have screen-grabbed it and called for an explanation to where it went.

The protesters claimed in the post that backburning was a risk to habitats.

One protest sign read: “Spring Burns Kill Baby Birds Alive”, and the other said: “Stop Burning Nesting Birds”.

An ABC spokesman told News Corp the post was removed as they couldn’t continue monitoring comments with the ongoing bushfire crisis.

“ABC Gippsland is focused on providing coverage and services to listeners about the ongoing bushfire emergency in the region,” an ABC spokesman said.

“We are unable to properly moderate comments on the Facebook post at this time, so have removed it from our page.”

The ABC’s recent New Year’s Eve coverage reached 3.5 million viewers and has raised $2.8 million for the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.

The post’s removal comes as ABC chief political correspondent Laura Tingle also defended her colleagues against claims on Twitter the national broadcaster reported with a lack of balance.

Meanwhile, the Australian Greens currently state on their website they support hazard reduction burns and backburning to reduce the impact of wildfire when guided by the best scientific, ecological and emergency service expertise.

But in an interview with The Australian in November last year, Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce said the Greens had increased the bushfire threat because of the party’s opposition to hazard reduction burns.

“The problems we have got have been created by the Greens,” Mr Joyce said.

“We haven’t had the capacity to easily access (hazard) reduction burns because of all of the paperwork that is part of green policy.

“We don’t have access to dams because they have been decommissioned on national parks because of green policy.”

About five million hectares (12.35 million acres) of land have burned nationwide over the past few months, with at least 17 people dead and more than 1,000 homes destroyed.

Some communities cancelled New Year’s fireworks celebrations, but Sydney’s popular display over its iconic harbour controversially went ahead in front of more than a million revellers.

The city was granted an exemption to a total fireworks ban in place there and elsewhere to prevent new wildfires.

Smoke from the wildfires meant Canberra, the nation’s capital, on Wednesday had air quality more than 21 times the hazardous rating to be reportedly the worst in the world.

The smoke has also wafted across the Tasman Sea and into New Zealand.
