HE can relive his famous father’s most iconic bout blow by blow and Tim Tszyu is hoping his Gold Coast junket will pave the way for his own legacy.
The Sydney-born 25-year-old will get the chance to take another step towards emulating the feats of dad Kostya when he faces Jeff Horn in their super welterweight fight at Townsville on August 26.
In order to avoid the coronavirus restrictions in NSW, Tszyu earlier in August relocated to Rhapsody Resort to prepare for the bout.
“It’s always been like a second home to me,” Tszyu said from his Coast camp.
“You have different stages of your life you want to do stuff but it’s always been planned to be a boxer from a young age.”
PRE-FIGHT STOUSH OVER WHO WLAKS OUT SECOND
As for his favourite moment from his father’s glittering career which included being light-welterweight world champion, Tszyu highlighted the famous 2001 title fight against American Zab Judah.
“I have rewatched them so many times now I know them off by heart,” he said of his dad’s bouts.
“That was the day (against Judah) he became the ultimate champ.”
