Stockland Cairns centre manager Ciaran Tuite said Lantern Lane would be the “perfect place for family and friends to socialise over some incredible Asian eats”.
“It’s about bringing the community together, providing them with the convenience they want and curating experiences that add value to their lives,” he said.
The new dining precinct follows the opening of Sunlit Asian Supermarket at the shopping centre in May.

Jay Le, who is behind Sunlit, said he was thrilled to continue his venture of bringing unique new offerings to the Cairns community.
“I wanted to create a cultural hub where people either felt a little more at home or like they had been transported somewhere completely new and authentic,” he said.
“I am so excited for customers to come in and experience something that is unique not just to the centre, but also the area at large.”
Mr Le said Lantern Lane, when completed, would capture the atmosphere of a Chinatown dining area.
“The Cairns CBD is very multicultural, with many Asian eateries and shops,” he said.
“But with Lantern Lane, we’ll have an Asian dining experience nobody in Cairns has ever tried before.

“We chose Stockland to attract local families- it’s a hub many people go shopping in outside the CBD.”
Mr Le said Lantern Lane was slated to open early next month.
It will be located in the food court, in the space between McDonald’s and EB Games.
Lantern Lane and the previously announced Game Station and Chimac 12 would occupy the space of the previously proposed sports tavern.
