A HIDDEN gem has been nominated as one of the best butchers on the Coast.
Sorrento Meats, a gourmet delight nestled in Bundall’s Sorrento Shopping Centre, is one of 17 businesses in the running to win the Best Christmas Butcher on the Coast.
Owner Brian Fankhauser and colleagues Jamie Allan, Todd Crocker and Bryan Campbell have been serving up premium meat for more than 10 years and they are not stopping any time soon.

Celebrity chef Matt Preston put the call out last week for the Best Christmas Butcher or Deli on the Gold Coast and the local knowledge has been pouring in.

Mr Fankhauser said the butchery prides itself on customer service and fresh, high-quality and tender produce, and gourmet ready-to-cook meals.
“We have worked together since 2001 and we are good friends who also love playing golf together,” he said.
The boutique business is well-known for their Victorian and Tasmanian lamb, grass-fed yearling beef, fresh local pork and delights like their lamb, butter chicken and beef stroganoff tucker bags, burritos, chicken enchiladas and their famous Christmas orange and bourbon glaze.
Coming into Christmas butcher Jamie Allan said to order your leg ham as soon as possible because you do not want to miss out.
“If you want to look like a Christmas cook pro, we also sell our top secret orange and bourbon glaze to put on top and bake,” he said.
“Our fresh turkeys are also a top seller too.
