GORDEN Tallis spent his Saturday morning putting pedal to the medal at a Gold Coast car yard dealership for a good cause.

But the rugby league legend, 47, wasn’t revving engines - he was pedalling on a bike.

Mr Tallis and car king Brett Frizelle joined 100 people at Frizelle Sunshine Automotive Group riding spin bikes to raise funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation’s Tour de Kids.

“I’ve been on a bike all morning, donating money for a great cause,” Mr Tallis said.

“To have kids in hospital and for them to be distracted from what they are going through is great, and the foundation does that.

“Brett Frizelle had a group called ‘The Crustys’ and they rode a bike for a few hours.

“It’s a tap and go bike. It costs $50 every time you jump on.”

Mr Tallis joked, saying he “looked good on a bike”.

“I look like Robbie McEwen, he’s one of Australia’s best bike riders,” he said.

“No actually, I look like a guy who ate Robbie McEwen.”

The event was on behalf of Skoda automotive who is a partner of the Tour de France annual bicycle race.

It raised $2,200.
