Project Booyah team to host Melbourne Cup Luncheon at The Pier, Townsville

Project Booyah are hosting a Melbourne Cup Luncheon at The Pier restaurant. PLO Officer Courtney Hart and Brooke Symons, volunteer for Project Booyah.

Project Booyah’s Melbourne Cup fundraising luncheon at the Pier Restaurant and Bar will provide a glamorous afternoon of racing and fashion for a great cause.

The event will be hosted by Project Booyah workers, a not-for-profit organisation run by police to help troubled youth get into work or education.

Project co-ordinator Senior Constable Dee Prosser said some past Project Booyah participants and mentors would attend the luncheon.

“The number one thing we’re really looking forward to is linking in with the community that’s supported us,” she said.

“We’ve got a lot of community support from people that have backed us from the start, and it’s really nice that we can have a function to bring everyone together.”

The event will feature raffles, lucky door prizes, fashions on the field and more, with all money raised going back into the project.

“It will be fun-filled while supporting a local cause helping our local youth stay engaged,” Senior Constable Prosser said.
