A private school-educated outlaw bikie, who was once busted with a Russian grenade at his home, is Victoria’s new Comanchero boss.

Yoshaan Vincent has for years been an influential figure within the Comanchero gang but now it can be revealed he has assumed a key role.

The qualified carpenter takes over in a period of some turbulence for the Comanchero, who have in recent months been butting heads with the rival Finks outfit.

Sydney’s Allan Meehan, nicknamed the “bathrobe bikie”, remains the national president.

A number of properties connected with the Comanchero have been targeted by arsonists, including their clubhouse in Clyde North, a strip club and Nitro gyms in Hallam and Mordialloc, all in Melbourne’s south east.

Vincent takes over as Victorian authorities are set to intensify their efforts to control bikie gangs in coming months.

Vincent received numerous mentions in the trial of Comanchero bikies later convicted over the 2019 murder of underworld figure Mitat Rasimi at Dandenong.

He was not involved in the crime but his name came up in courtroom testimony about the club’s activities.

In 2018, Vincent was busted dealing a trafficable amount of cocaine in a Mitcham park after the transaction was set up using Snapchat.

He was on bail at the time over blackmail charges.

Judge Dyer sentenced Vincent to a minimum of four years and six months in jail for trafficking cocaine and ice, and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

The court heard that police found a Samurai sword, 417g of ice in 14 zip lock bags, and $30,000 in cash during searches of his home and vehicle after the park drug dealing was uncovered.

Police found a Louis Vuitton bag containing cash, believed to be proceeds of crime, under the seat of Yoshaan Vincent’s car.

“The circumstances of your offending reveal a level of sophistication and pre‑planning which was clearly directed towards the avoidance of detection and the maintenance of your ability to continue your involvement in this highly lucrative but socially evil pursuit of drug-trafficking,” Judge Dyer said in sentencing.

Vincent claimed that the drugs found in his possession were for personal use and that he was trying to get off drugs.

“While you desire to avoid relapsing into drug use and further criminality is laudable, there remains a further troubling issue, your association with the Comanchero Motorcycle Club,” Judge Dyer said.

“My real concern for you is that any involvement with a motorcycle gang would greatly impede your efforts to rehabilitate yourself in the future upon your release and to avoid further criminal activity.”

The “Comos” remain a force in the gangland sector, despite being battered in recent years by the arrests of some key figures on high-level violence and drug charges.

Duax Ngakuru was a key Comanchero figure who was arrested in Turkey in 2023, with New Zealand authorities attempting to extradite him there to face drug trafficking and money laundering charges. He is believed to be worth more than $100 million.
