Crystalbrook area manager Joel Gordon said the Bailey brand would complement a CBD striving to be the cultural hub of regional Queensland.

“The opening of this hotel comes in perfect timing with the CPAC development … the redevelopment of CoCA just down the road and also the development of the arts precinct down near the courthouse on Abbott St,” he said.

“This hotel is going to play a significant part in that story as well.”

Mr Gordon said forward bookings for the 217 rooms were looking good and he thought locals visiting the hotel would play a key role in the success of the business.

“Locals have strong alliances and loyalty with Riley and we want them to come down and see what Bailey is all about,” he said.

Three restaurants will trade from Bailey including CC’s Bar and Grill, specialising in Australian produce paired with fresh local seafood.

Milk Bar will serve up childhood favourites with a strong dose of nostalgia in a revival of the humble suburban milk bar.

Latin fusion will feature in the third restaurant, Pachamama, set to open early in the New Year.

Bailey general manager Carl Taranto said the new hotel would feature fine art installations including photography, film, mosaic and sculpture, with each floor featuring the work of a local artist.

“For our locals and our tourists coming to this hotel they will be able to connect and to be inspired, this is going to be a truly amazing experience,” he said.

Crystalbook Collection beef produced near Chillagoe will be served at CC’s and marble also from Chillagoe features in the ground floor bar.

“It’s a true paddock to plate experience for the group and for our locals and tourists to enjoy,” he said.

Single rooms in the new 12 floor hotel cost $190 per night with locals receiving a 15 per cent discount. The Bailey Suite costs $349 a night.
