THREE of the Gold Coast’s best-loved exotic animals have celebrated birthdays this weekend with some colourful gifts.
Despite being closed to the public in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city’s theme parks have held isolation birthday parties for their beloved creatures.
At Dreamworld, tigers Zakari and Javi marked their first birthday with a stack of gifts at the northern Gold Coast theme park.
They were joined by fellow young tiger Khan who was given a gift a month before his birthday on May 26.
“During our temporary closure, the team are making sure they keep up with their daily enrichment,” Dreamworld said in a Facebook post today.
Meanwhile, at Sea World, Mishka the Pola Bear celebrated her third birthday party.
Despite the park being closed, its staff threw Mishka a special isolation birthday party at the Polar Bear Shores enclosure.
The birthday festivities included presents with a giant yellow float quickly becoming her new favourite toy and a host of her favourite treats including watermelon.
Mishka is Sea World’s youngest polar bear and weighs 222kgs.
