Gold Coast development: $1.2m sales for Burleigh ‘man cave’ project.

A pair of high-end “man caves” in a new Gold Coast development have already sold for an eye-watering price ahead of work beginning on the project, which will also feature a new KFC.

A HIGH-end “man cave” development has amassed $1.2 million in sales, despite not being publicly released to the market.

The off-the-plan sales of the two units at West Burleigh came in at $620,000 and $535,000.

The units will be built empty by Potter Group and converted into storage, commercial usage or small “homes away from home”.

Potter Group director Zac Potter said the response to the project had been “extremely encouraging”.

“With the project already 30 per cent sold prior to marketing commencing, it demonstrates the strong appeal of the man cave concept,’’ he said.

Planned for a site next to the former Billabong headquarters on Burleigh Connection Road, construction is expected to begin in April.

The first section of the new precinct, a KFC drive-through restaurant, is earmarked to open in May.

It is one of several new “man cave” style projects put forward for the Gold Coast in the past year.
