A tradie has captured the heart-racing moment a Victoria police officer told a teenage girl to “get out of the f**king car” during an arrest in south-east Melbourne.
Police officers swooped in on the 17-year-old girl in Springvale on Wednesday.
The teenager was allegedly driving a stolen white Mercedes that was taken during a Mulgrave robbery on Monday.
The vehicle was found parked on Kemp Street with the help of Air Wing, before police cordoned the area after spotting it earlier in the suburb at about 11.15am.
It’s alleged the young woman failed to obey police orders initially, forcing officers to take more drastic measures to make their arrest.
Footage shows two officers hiding behind a truck as the vehicle drives down the street at a slow pace.
An officer is then seen jumping out in front of the luxury vehicle armed with what appears to be a taser, before shouting “stop, get out of the f**king car, get out”, as another officer appears from behind.
“Get on the f**king ground now, on the ground,” the officer continues to shout as the woman opens up the driver door and exits, before getting down on her hands and knees to lie on the ground.
Tradie Brody Pintar was working nearby when the arrest unfolded and decided to record the incident in case matters went sideways.
“I just thought maybe they would try and make a run for it, and then … she jumped out of the car and went straight on the ground to make it easy for them,” he told 7 News.
After arresting the woman, the vehicle was searched and police said they located a meat cleaver in the back.
A police statement said detectives from the Monash Crime Investigation Unit charged the woman with a number of offences including aggravated burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, obtaining property by deception and possessing a weapon.
The 17-year-old will face a children’s court at a later date, while police look for two other people in relation to the incident.
News.com.au contacted Victoria Police regarding the force used for the arrest, however they were unable to comment at the time of publication.
It’s understood no one was injured in Wednesday’s arrest.
Police are urging anyone with information on the Mulgrave incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
