An OnlyFans creator has put up racy posters of herself in the electorate of Wentworth in a bizarre political catfishing scheme designed to steer voters to Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.
Social media influencer Gena Anne, who also posts under the handle “gigi.links” and “thecaddiebaddie”, has found herself in the crosshairs of the Australian Electoral Commission after a video emerged of her unique ploy to drum up support for the Coalition.
The woman, dressed in white booty shorts and a pink crop top emblazoned with the words “Daddy Dutton”, unveiled her tactics in a now-deleted social media post titled “how I tricked people into voting for Peter Dutton”.
In the video she is seen standing next to a poster bearing the Coalition’s slogan “Let’s Get Australia Back on Track” and a racy photo of herself.
“How I’m tricking Australia to vote for Peter Dutton. Over their election posters, I’m putting my sexy one up next to them,” she said in the video.
“When people scan this (the QR code) they think they’re going to get my spicy pics but look what it leads to.”
Rather than “spicy pics”, people are redirected to Mr Dutton’s official website.
The woman ends the video declaring “Daddy Dutton, I got you”.
There is no authorisation message on the poster – a critical ingredient needed to ensure the move wasn’t in breach of electoral rules.
The Australian Electoral Commission, in a statement, confirmed it had been made aware of the social media posts on Thursday morning.
“We note that after we responded to questions about the posts on social media, the owner of the account appears to have removed all videos of her putting up her signs,” a spokesman said.
“As we have noted on social media, it is unclear if the posts from this individual depicted widespread use of the signage or if the signs were just a video prop for engagement.
“Regardless, such a poster would appear to have the purpose of seeking to influence how someone votes & expenditure involved in production – so regardless of intent it looks like it would require authorisation if in use.”
While the original video has been deleted, the woman’s stunt re-emerged on the Instagram page of queer publication Kaleidoscope News.
The woman’s social media profiles don’t show any evidence of other political activity.
