Queensland Labor’s razor thin lead in the seat of Brisbane has been extended to 184 votes as more postal votes were processed on Wednesday.
Labor’s Madonna Jarrett, as of Tuesday afternoon, led the Greens by just 30 primary votes.
But on Wednesday afternoon that lead had been extended to a total of 184 votes.
Federal Labor is hoping postal votes will help it extend its primary lead in the seat to a big enough buffer that the Greens do not overtake them once preferences from minor party’s — like the Animal Justice Party — are allocated.
There are still 14,203 postal votes yet to be processed.
