LNP’s Andrew Willcox has held the seat since 2022 winning on a 10.4 per cent margin on a two-party-preferred basis.
There are seven candidates this election, including (in ballot paper order) Michael Lockyer (Trumpet of Patriots), Alexander Beaumont (People First), Amanda Nickson (Family First), Andrew Willcox (LNP), Darren Brown (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation), Paula Creen (Greens), and Neil Wallace (Labor).
Dawson extends along the coast from Mackay in the south to the banks of the Ross River in Townsville.
