AN ANONYMOUS punter could win hundreds of thousands of dollars after putting it all on yellow.
Betting agency Ladbrokes has revealed a better has placed an $800 flutter on Mr Palmer’s United Australia Party winning government in the upcoming the federal election.
With odds of $301 on the Queensland mining magnate winning office, that would equate to a whopping $240,000 haul.
Despite his billionaire status, The Courier-Mail understands the impressive flutter was not placed by Mr Palmer himself.
The former MP, who transformed the Coolum Golf Club into a robotic dinosaur park and promised to build a second Titanic, has inundated the electorate with yellow ads promising he will build a fast train to the Gold Coast.
Despite Mr Palmer’s promotional material claiming he “will win government,” all opinion polls and betting agencies rate the United Australia Party’s chances of victory as virtually zero.
Elsewhere on the betting markets, Labor is the favourite to be sworn in as government, with odds of $1.22 on Ladbrokes as of Monday afternoon, compared to the Coalition’s $4.30.
