ONE lucky Darwin woman has turned $2 into a mouth-watering $25,000 with a spur-of-the-moment decision to buy a scratchie in the CBD.
After a day out at the shops, the woman bought her $2 Catch a Fortune instant scratch-it ticket at Bardens Pharmacy on Cavenagh St.

Sharing her excitement with an official from The Lott, the woman said she experienced her winning moment with her family by her side.
“My family and I often buy scratchies when we are out at the shops,” she said.
“We had all just been at the shops and bought a few each and then came home and were scratching them together.
“I started shouting when I saw I had won. I couldn’t believe it. I showed my parents and my sister, and we were all shouting.”
She said she hoped to share her winnings with her family. “It’s really come at a good time for us with everything happening at the moment,” she said.
“We’ve had to change our travel plans, so this will go a long way to helping with those when we can have a holiday again.”
Bardens Pharmacy manager Ashleigh Hutson said her store may have had a lucky charm, having previously sold another major prize.
“We have sold another top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its, but it was a few years ago now,” she explained,” she said.

“It was so exciting when the customer came and told us she had won. It’s always great to see wins go to a regular customer.”
