CAIRNS beauty Ebony Doyle may have missed out on the Miss World Australia title on the Gold Coast, but she’s still walked away a winner.
“It was definitely a great experience,” says Ebony, 20, who is now considering a move to Brisbane to pursue modelling opportunities.
“This pageant journey has been one of learning and growth. It was eye-opening and mind-opening.”
Ebony was one of 29 contestants looking to represent Australia in the Miss World pageant, fronting a star-studded gathering at the ritzy Palazzo Versace Hotel on Friday.
“I’m very happy with who won (model and sports star Sarah Marschke) but honestly would have been happy with any one of them.”
She said Sarah had demonstrated humility, kindness, confidence and strength.
“All the women were amazing. They made the week pleasant,” Ebony said.
Having recently qualified to study at university, she has enrolled in an online nutrition course while juggling her job at Officeworks.
Ebony’s mother, Fiona Wirrer-George of Cairns, said the pageant represented a new beginning for her daughter, who had shown great “poise and presence” on stage.
“Eb did not take the crown, but in our eyes, she is already in victory and we are very proud of her,” she said.
