A REPLACEMENT vessel has been deployed after one of SeaLink’s ferries struck the wharf at Kettering on Saturday morning.
A SeaLink Travel Group spokeswoman told the Mercury it was working to determine how many vehicles were onboard during the incident, which was also confirmed on their Facebook page just before 9am.
There were some initial delays with ferry services.
“Earlier this morning, the ferry from Bruny Island to Kettering came into contact with the wharf, causing an interruption to services,” the spokeswoman said.
“We have replacement vessels now in service and there are no further delays expected. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
It’s understood the vessel involved was the Mirambeena.
The state government has been contacted for comment.
More to come.
