EXCLUSIVE: A DELICIOUS new biscuit spread has hit the shelves of Australian supermarkets all the way from Belgium.
The jar Lotus Biscoff, made from crushed spiced shortcrust biscuits, is set to become a mouth-watering favourite among the nation’s sweet-tooths.
The product has been a popular spread of choice in European countries and the USA for several years, also known as ‘Speculoos’ and ‘Speculaas’.
But the creamy jar of goodness could only be purchased at international food stores for a hefty price, until it was made available at supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths this month.
The new biscuit product priced at $5.50 for a 100g jar, is set to give rival spreads Vegemite, Nutella and peanut butter, a run for their money.
Extravagant desserts made from the caramelised spread could soon be trending in Aussie cafes and cake shops, with sweet recipes for Biscoff milkshakes, slices, pancakes and more surfacing online.
The spread is made from Belgium.
