LONG-TIME Bellarine MP and Police Minister Lisa Neville has been admitted to hospital over ‘serious’ health complications.

Ms Neville on Saturday confirmed she was admitted to hospital on Friday night as a result of complications associated with a previously diagnosed medical condition.

“I have been living with and managing this condition for some time but the complications that have now arisen are serious and require a period of time in hospital for treatment and subsequent respite and recovery,” Ms Neville said.

“This condition is not COVID-19 related.

“At this time my intent is to return to work on Monday 22 February, subject to treatment and medical advice.”

Housing Minister Richard Wynne will be the acting Water Minister in her absence.

Health Minister Martin Foley MP will be the acting Police and Emergency Services Minister, including oversight of COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria.

Ms Neville, who has an adult son, has represented Bellarine in parliament since 2002.
