ONE of worlds best filmmakers was spotting dining at a swanky Gold Coast restaurant on Sunday night.

Why film industry is booming on Gold Coast

BAZ Luhrmann, who is in the city to film the $100 million untitled Elvis Film, was seen dining at Gemellini Nobby Beach.

He was with three people sitting at a table at the front of the Italian restaurant, soaking up the local hospitality atmosphere.

Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic is filming at Village Roadshow Studios in Oxenford and stars Hollywood actor Tom Hanks.

The Australian born filmmaker has made some of the worlds most well known films from Strictly Ballroom, The Great Gatsby, and Moulin Rouge.
