POPULAR Darwin musical festival BassInTheGrass has officially sold out, much quicker than ever before

POPULAR musical festival BASSINTHEGRASS has officially sold out, much quicker than ever before.

The festival is scheduled for May 15 after being postponed and eventually cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Territory music lovers were warned by NT Major Events earlier this week that they were at risk of missing out on tickets if they didn’t book soon due to a surge in sales coming from interstate.

NT Major Events chief executive Tim Watsford on Friday revealed there are now no tickets left for the event at Mindil Beach.

Punters who missed out on a ticket can put their name on a waitlist at www.bassinthegrass.com.au and pray to the music gods that some become available.

“This is a fantastic result. BASSINTHEGRASS is usually a sold out event, but it’s never sold out this far in advance before, and we’ve never seen so many interstaters jump on board,” Mr Watsford said.

“Thousands of people from across Australia will be descending on Darwin for the event, which is great news for local businesses.

“It’s roughly a 50/50 split of Territorians and interstaters, so we’ll also see thousands of locals heading to Mindil Beach to enjoy a world-class line-up on their home turf.”

Anyone who bought a ticket for the postponed BASSINTHEGRASS 2020 can use that ticket for this year’s event.

The BASSINTHEGRASS line up includes Boo Seeka, Chillinit, the DMA’s, G Flip, Hayden James, Lime Cordiale, Missy Higgins, Ocean Alley, Safia, The Rubens and Thelma Plum.
