Meet 12-week-old Jesse, our first nominee for NT News’ Cutest Wet Season Baby competition

Twelve-week-old Jesse Stringer has been horse riding, fishing and hunting, but it was a cheeky grin that captured our hearts in the NT News’ search for the Territory’s cutest bub.

Hardly 12 weeks old, Jesse Stringer has already had a lifetime of adventure.

But it is baby Jesse’s “big cheeky smile” that encouraged mum and dad to nominate him for the NT News’ Cutest Wet Season Bub competition.

Parents Emily, 25, and Jake, 35, have taken their “little trooper” along horse riding, fishing and even pig hunting, taking after their own country lifestyle at their Kidman Springs station.

“He’s just happy all the time – as soon as he’s got your attention, he’ll just have the biggest smile,” Ms Stringer told the NT News.

With mum’s help, he has caught six barramundi so far – six more than even some regular fishermen.

“We both love being outdoors and as soon as he was big enough, we wanted him to come with us,” she said.

“My lifelong dream was to be able to raise a family on the station and it’s been incredible to be able to do that from the get-go.”

Rodeo riding will be Jesse’ next big milestone according to Ms Stringer, but most of all, she wants him to grow into a “hardworking and honest sort of person like his dad”.

If you or someone you know has birthed a sweet little bub between the months of November and April, you can nominate them here.
