Certain suburb and landmark names are easily changed to reflect Canberra’s reefer reality. Bonython becomes Bongython, Chifley becomes Choofley and so on.
Red Hill is replaced by Green Hill, Duffy is Puffy, Bonner receives an additional central ‘g’ and Deakin will be Peakin’.
Hume upgrades to Fume and the Captain Cook Memorial Globe must refer to Captain Bake.
To properly reflect the likelihood of serious mental damage from long-term marijuana use, Yarralumla should be retitled Yarramumbler.
And Downer doesn’t need a name change at all.
NRL fans will thrill to the flowing, cosmic playing style of the always-relaxed Canberra Reefers, while AFL followers can always catch a few games at Marijuanuka Oval.
The current Mount Pleasant Lookout will fit the city’s blissed-out mood much better if it’s called the Mount Awesome Lookout.
And a few cosmetic alterations are needed before the statue of Simpson and his donkey can accurately depict Simpson and his dealer.
