PAST attendees of the wonderful Opera at Jimbour event didn't think it could get much better, but this year organisers proved them wrong.

Every second year the grounds of the stunning Jimbour House homestead come alive with opera fans and beautiful music thanks to a collaboration between Western Downs Regional Council and the Queensland Music Festival.

Western Downs Regional Council communications officer Melanie Coultas said there were a number of firsts for this year's event.

One big change was the addition of camping in the offering and plenty of keen campers took up the option.

Another game changer for the thousands of opera fans enjoying a day at the beautiful country venue was the addition of giant screens so they didn't miss a single bit of the performances.

Stall holders were just as impressed as the music fans, with some vendors reporting a 50% increase in sales compared to last year.

Local musicians also get a boost from the popular event as supporting acts.
