Kayaker Ella Beere has seen proof miracles do happen which is why she is not giving up on her Olympic dream just yet.

Ella Beere knows miracles can happen.
Four years ago she saw two young outsiders Alyce Burnett and Alyssa Bull beat fancied K2 veterans in Jo Brigden Jones and Naomi Flood to earn a spot on the Olympic kayak team in Rio.
Now she and crew mate a Kailey Harlen are hoping history repeats.

The young guns of world kayaking have just secured a spot on the Australian team to race at the under 23 world championships at a qualifying regatta in Penrith
Now they are hoping to impress selectors enough to crack a spot on the Olympic team to be named later this month.
“I have my hand in the air for the Olympics. That would be the dream,” Beere said.
“We know the story of Alyce and Alyssa. Kailey and I are the young ones coming through. This is our first season together and we are developing and learning.
“We are the underdogs. But what happened to Alyce and Alyssa shows that it can be done.
“We are young. We have nothing to lose.”
Beere is dedicated to the cause, spending hours each week travelling and training.

Beere lives at Hunters Hill but travels to the Central Coast each weekend to be with her teammates at the powerhouse Avoca kayak club and trains weekdays at Narrabeen Lakes.
She also competes in surf life saving for Avoca and races kayaks regularly at Penrith.
In between the 21-year-old is studying psychology at Macquarie University and is also a swim teacher there.
“I spend a lot of time in the car,” she said.
