'Hero' teenager saves little sister from kidnapper using his slingshot
The 17-year-old suspect was later found with injuries at a petrol station, and admitted he wanted to "severely beat" the hero teenager's little sister.

A teenager has been hailed a hero after fighting off a potential kidnapper with his slingshot.
The New York Postreports the unnamed teenager’s eight-year-old sister was outside hunting for mushrooms when a 17-year-old boy appeared from the woods behind the family home.
The 17-year-old grabbed the girl and held her mouth to prevent her from screaming before dragging her towards the woods in northern Michigan.
The 13-year-old brother saw the older teen approaching from his bedroom window, and when he realised what was happening, he rushed to action.
The teen grabbed his slingshot and started firing at the older boy, striking him in the head and chest.
Another member of the family saw the teenage suspect running away from the house and called police to report the attempted kidnapping.

17-year-old suspect planned to "severely beat" little girl
The incident happened in Alpena Township, a small town of less than 10,000 people on the shores of Lake Huron, about 300 kilometres north of Detroit.
Michigan state troopers later caught the suspect hiding at a nearby petrol station with injuries from the slingshot projectiles.
The Post reports the boy allegedly admitted to police he planned to “severely beat” the little girl in the woods.

Police later announced the 17-year-old had been charged as an adult with attempted kidnapping/child enticement, one count of attempted assault to do great bodily harm less than murder, and one count of assault and battery.
The suspect is expected to appear in court later this week.
