A woman has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after she was struck by a car on the Gold Coast overnight.

Emergency services were called to Seaworld Drive just after 10pm on Saturday, not long after the incident occurred.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the female patient was treated for “potentially life-threatening” head injuries and taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

The Queensland Police Service was contacted for comment – it’s unclear at this stage whether the incident is being investigated by officers.

It’s the second serious vehicle and pedestrian incident in a matter of days after a woman was struck by a bus at Southport on Monday.

Lauren Harvey, 41, suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain, and remains in Gold Coast University Hospital.

Ms Harvey was hit while at a pedestrian crossing near Hinze and Davenport streets – in the city’s legal precinct.
