Traffic along a major Gold Coast road has been thrown into chaos earlier today as emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle collision.

Crews were called to the scene northbound at Binda Place and Bundall Road, Bundall, just before 7am Thursday.

A light pole, traffic signs and debris were scattered across the main road which also impacted some southbound lanes, according to Queensland Police.

All northbound lanes were impacted and delays experienced through the area as crews worked for about an hour to clear the scene. No injuries were reported.

Queensland Ambulance did not attend the scene.

The roads have since been cleared with traffic moving freely.

Violent stabbing sparks school lockdown

February 22: A Northern Gold Coast state school was forced into lockdown this morning as police searched for an offender who stabbed a man and fled.

Police were called to a property on Flowers Dr after a fight between two men, who were known to each other, escalated about 8.15am.

A Coomera man, 30, received multiple stab-wounds to his left arm and chest and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The incident forced students and teachers at Picnic Creek State School, which was about 1km away, into lockdown.

They were told to remain indoors as a “precaution,” according to Queensland Police.

Police earlier said there was no threat to staff or students and parents were advised not to attend the school.

The lockdown lifted about 9.30am and classes have since resumed.

Police are continuing to search for the man and investigations are ongoing.

Men charged as early morning raid leads to sinister discovery

February 22: A large haul of modified firearms, crossbows and a quantity of drugs have been seized by Gold Coast police following the early morning raid of a Labrador home at the weekend.

Detectives from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad executed a search warrant on the Turpin Rd address about 6.20am Sunday morning.

Queensland Police said it was in relation to investigations into the illegal supply of firearms.

Allegedly found inside the property were two pistol crossbows, a shortened 12-gauge shot gun, a musket style handgun, a replica handgun, two taser cartridges and two MDMA tablets.

Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith said police would continue to target similar offences:

“The selling of illegal firearms can lead to them being used in the commission of other serious or violent crimes which is why we will maintain our focus on those involved and bring them before the courts,” he said.

Two men, aged 53 and 39, were charged with firearm and drug offences.

The younger man is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on March

Investigations are ongoing.

Woman’s brazen act before robbing servo at knifepoint

February 21: A woman who allegedly posed as a paying customer before brazenly robbing a Southport business at knifepoint will front court after handing herself into police hours later.

Police allege the 20-year-old Ashmore woman entered the Ferry Rd service station about 4pm Sunday, taking items from shelves and queuing behind fellow customers as if to pay.

It is alleged the woman approached the front counter as remaining customers exited the store when she produced a knife from under her shirt and demanded the worker hand over money.

An undisclosed sum of cash was handed over before she fled the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The woman handed herself in to Surfers Paradise police about 6pm Sunday evening.

She is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday charged with armed robbery.
