A warrant has been issued for the arrest of ‘ASX Wolf’ social media identity Tyson Scholz, who is reportedly overseas and yet to face court on his latest charges.
Tyson Robert Scholz was due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday facing charges including fraud (dishonestly inducing a person to act), false declarations, speeding, unlicensed driving, and using a mobile phone while driving.
It is alleged Scholz was caught speeding in a rented Ferrari, then falsely claimed it was his partner driving and had the ticket reissued to her in April last year.
Police also allegedly uncovered videos on Scholz’s mobile phone that showed him driving while unlicensed or using his phone on various dates in 2020.
The Gold Coast-based ‘finfluencer’ is yet to appear in court in person on the charges, which were laid in September last year, and was again absent when his case was mentioned on Thursday.
Defence lawyer Faith Nash, of Fraser Lawyers, asked permission for her firm to withdraw from the matter.
She said Scholz told his legal representatives he was overseas when he last contacted them in January, and had not responded to any of their messages since.
Magistrate Dzenita Balic granted the withdrawal and released a warrant for Scholz’s arrest.
No further court date was set.
Scholz earned the badge ‘ASX Wolf’ due to his prominence as a share trader and Instagram influencer, and at one point reached more than 21,000 social media followers.
