The owners of a Gold Coast sashimi and oyster bar say the launch party for their new venue at one of the city’s most popular dining precincts was a taste of things to come.

Tobias Diamandopoulos and Rosalind Pinto are set to open Eska at The Oxley in Nobby Beach next week.

Mr Diamandopoulos said the launch party on August 23 – which had more than 300 people attend – was a “huge success”.

“Watching Eska come to life has been exhilarating,” he said.

The opening will mark the Eska duo’s 13th venue but Mr Diamandopoulos said “we couldn’t be more excited to share our little local seafood experience with the Gold Coast”.

Mr Diamandopoulos said they wanted to give Mermaid Beach locals a “sanctuary where every visit feels like a getaway”.

“We wanted to capture the essence of the Gold Coast lifestyle,” he said.

“Eska is about enjoying fresh, healthy seafood like our signature sashimi just steps from the beach, wrapped in a relaxed, sunset-soaked atmosphere”.

Mr Diamandopoulos predicted chilli mussels, seafood chowder and a fish sando would be their most popular dishes.

“All our menu items have proved popular but at the heart of who we are, the fresh sashimi and prawns are definitely a crowd favourite,” he said.
