A ‘crime scene’ on a quiet Gold Coast street – involving a fake skeleton found in storm water drain – has caused quite a stir.
Nearby residents of Huth St, Labrador, took to social media with concern late Wednesday after finding a “police cordon” at the end of the street.
“Anyone know what’s going on at the end of Huth St? Police have put tape along the street,” one Facebook user wrote.
Other residents also reported seeing the area taped off.
Police said a member of the public came across the skeleton and reported it to authorities, with officers attending the scene.
They confirmed it to be a training skeleton, which can be used as an educational aid.
No police investigation was required.
In a separate incident, another Labrador resident reported finding dentures and “some blood” just streets away from where the fake skeleton was found.
According to a social media post, the fake teeth were spotted on the road at the corner of Broad St and Turpin Rd on Wednesday.
The dentures are yet to be claimed.
